She is the firm’s managing partner and heads the Commercial and Civil litigation department. Ms. Muthie has vast experience in commercial transactions and corporate governance. Her wealth of experience stems from her previous service in the Banking and finance sector and time in practice at the firms of J. Makumi & Co Advocates, J.K. Kibicho & Co Advocates, and Tiego & Co. Advocates, where she served before founding G.N. Muthie & Co. Advocates.
Her areas of practice are but not limited to Commercial and Civil Litigation, Legal Tech (Law & Technology), Banking, Securities and Finance, Intellectual Property law, Commercial Transactions, Administrative & Constitutional Litigation, and Public Interest Litigation. She has practical experience in Land and Property transactions, Company Formations, banking advances and securities, realizations thereof, and debt collection.
Together with these, she has demonstrated expertise and a personal interest in Legal Tech and Environmental law and compliance. She has been part of a key resource team advising on environmental compliance, participated in the drafting and formulation of legal tech policies on data privacy and protection.
Ms. Muthie is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (L.S.K), the East African Law Society (E.A.L.S), and the Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya).
